Principle of Action
Competition for Nutrients: Trichoderma viride competes with soilborne pathogens for nutrients and space, depriving them of essential resources.
Production of Lytic Enzymes: Known for their production of lytic enzymes and antibiotics, used in biocontrol of plant-pathogenic fungi.
Induced Resistance: Activates the plant's internal defense system, enhancing its resistance to diseases.
Mycelial Interaction: T. viride mycelium penetrates and absorbs nutrients from pathogen mycelium, causing pathogen death.
Promotes Robust Root Growth: Sturdier root development for plants, leading to increased drought resistance.
Benefits
- Disease Prevention: Effectively prevents and controls a range of soil-borne diseases.
- Soil Enhancement: Improves soil conditions, enhances root system permeability and oxygen supply.
- Root Growth: Stimulates vigorous root growth, leading to more robust crop growth and higher yields.
- Drought Tolerance: Increases the ability of crops to withstand drought conditions.
- Nutrient Absorption: Enhances nutrient uptake and improves the efficiency of fertilizer use.
Dosage and Method of Application
Seed Treatment: Apply 40 grams for 1 kg seeds with rice gruel as a coating before sowing.
Seedling Root Dip: Mix 2 Kg of Trichoderma with 50 liters of water for seedling root immersion before transplantation.
Soil Application: For each mu (Chinese unit of area, 1/15 of a hectare), apply 2 kg Trichoderma mixed with 20Kgs of farmyard manure before transplanting.
Suitable for a wide range of crops, including Sugarcane, Pulses, Oilseeds, Cotton, and various vegetables, fruits, and ornamentals.
Caution
- Use Trichoderma viride as a microbial application for the soil environment, avoiding direct contact with plant stems and leaves.
- Minimize the use of harsh chemical pesticides.
- Trichoderma viride is safe for continuous use on crops.
